Apex Data Systems provides full service and support capabilities as a software house and systems builder. Our staff of analysts, programmers, customer support specialists and marketing representatives are well trained in both the insurance and computer industries. From defining requirements to identifying solutions, programming custom modifications, or performing technical assistance and training, we have the know-how and experience to bring your use of our applications to the highest level of productivity.
We generally release enhancements to the software semiannually. Enhancements are made from our clients' suggestions, or from our researching the trends of our industry.
Implementation assistance Apex Data Systems has the capability of providing a total "turnkey" solution with concentration on those aspects of systems development with which the client either has no experience or does not care to become involved. Many users are content with object code ("run-time" versions of the system), relying on Apex Data Systems to provide ongoing software maintenance and support. A few have opted to purchase the source code, and have assumed their own software maintenance after becoming aware of the inner workings. Apex Data Systems is fully prepared to support our clients under either approach.
Conversion Apex Data Systems provides a wide variety of services aimed at making implementation of our applications as smooth as possible. These services include conversion of data from existing systems, writing necessary interfaces to other systems as desired, making custom modifications to the software as requested by the customer.
We have performed numerous conversions over the years and are fully capable of working with our customers in bringing existing data from other systems into our applications, and vice versa.
External system interface Using a variety of techniques, Apex Data Systems routinely writes interfaces to external systems as required by our customers, based upon their specific needs. This typically includes interfacing to a corporate financial system for general ledger and other financial reporting purposes. For customers where our system is selected to process a specific block of business, we may need to interface to an enterprise premium billing or agent commission system for example, rather than using our own built-in internal capabilities. We have significant experience in developing these interfaces, and can work directly with your staff in any capacity that suits your needs.
Comprehensive services Apex Data Systems provides comprehensive consulting, analysis, and programming services. We lead clients through project definition, analysis, design, programming, testing, training, implementation and ongoing support. We have established concise programming, documentation, and project control standards. We routinely modify the system to provide for the unique processing requirements of our clients, and we support these modifications on an ongoing basis. This includes retrofitting their custom modifications into each new release of the software as part of our maintenance support. The staff of Apex Data Systems has performed modification projects ranging from small, simple changes to million-dollar customization projects for major clients.
User education and training Training by Apex Data Systems is always customized to our customer's specific needs, and varies based on the size and complexity of system requirements. An initial education class is designed especially for project managers and supervisors who will use our system in order to give them a solid understanding and a strong base from which to make decisions about set-up and structure. While we can offer this service at any location, we find that initial education in our Tucson office offers a more secluded setting in which this core team can concentrate uninterrupted. During this class, we educate our customer's management team on the design and framework of our system, with a view toward assisting them in determining more specifically how they will utilize our product to meet their processing needs. This includes helping them make decisions as to how their data will be incorporated into our system, and consulting on any enhancements that may become part of initial implementation.
Subsequent user training can be performed either in Tucson or at the customer site, based on user requirements. This training is typically attended by the supervisors who participated in the initial education class, and by end-user staff. This serves to reinforce system understanding for the supervisors who will be responsible for helping with the daily processing of the system, and make them more comfortable with system functions and procedures. It also, of course, introduces end-users to the system, and helps them understand how they will use the system for their specific job responsibilities.
Training can be provided subsequently through either additional classroom style education, or through ad hoc telephone training as the need arises for additional help with operational procedures.
